What the Perplexity integration does

Salesfinity's Perplexity integration connects through Composio and lets the Salesfinity AI Companion send research questions to Perplexity and bring back answers with source citations. It is an assistant-level connection that runs against your own Perplexity account. It is not a data feed: Perplexity results are returned in the Companion conversation and are not written into Salesfinity contact records or calling lists unless you separately act on them.

Research the Companion can run for you

• Ask a question about a company, market or person and get back an answer with the sources it came from.

• Follow up in the same thread to narrow or expand a result.

• Ask for recent news or announcements on a named account before you dial it.

What it does not do

• It does not return verified phone numbers or email addresses. Contact data comes from Salesfinity's enrichment and List Builder, not from web search.

• It does not enrich a list in bulk or fill columns automatically.

• It does not store Perplexity output in your CRM.

Common use cases

Building a short pre-call brief on a named account

Before a targeted calling block, ask the Companion to research the three accounts at the top of your list: what they sell, recent funding or product news, and who reports to the person you are calling. You get a cited summary you can skim in the minute before the dialer connects you.

Sanity-checking a claim you heard on a call

A prospect says they just switched vendors or are opening a second office. Ask the Companion to check it through Perplexity and see whether public sources back it up before you build a whole follow-up sequence around it.

Understanding an unfamiliar industry before a new segment push

When your team starts calling into a vertical nobody has worked before, use the Companion to pull background on how that industry buys, what the common job titles mean, and what vocabulary shows up in their job postings. That shapes the opener before you burn dials learning it.

How to connect Perplexity to Salesfinity

1. In Salesfinity, open Settings → Integrations.

2. Choose Perplexity from the AI Companion integrations list.

3. Provide your Perplexity API credentials on the Composio connection screen.

4. Confirm the connection is active in Salesfinity.

5. Ask the AI Companion a research question to verify results come back with citations.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Perplexity integration sync contacts into Salesfinity?

No. Perplexity is a research tool, not a contact database, and this integration does not create contacts or calling lists. To build a list for dialing, use CSV import, a native CRM integration, or the List Builder.

Whose Perplexity account is used, and who pays for the usage?

Your own. The integration runs against the Perplexity account and credentials you connect, so any usage counts against your Perplexity plan.

Can I trust the answers for prospecting decisions?

Treat them as leads to verify, not as facts. Perplexity returns citations with its answers, so check the sources before you repeat a claim on a call. For contact-level accuracy such as titles and phone numbers, rely on Salesfinity's enrichment rather than web search.

Does this replace Salesfinity's List Builder?

No. The List Builder sources prospects and produces dialable lists. Perplexity answers open research questions. They solve different problems and are often used together.
