What the SerpApi integration does

Salesfinity's SerpApi integration lets the AI Companion run live search engine queries through your SerpApi account and read back structured results. SerpApi returns parsed search results as data rather than raw HTML, which makes it useful when you want the Companion to check something on the open web with predictable output. The connection is made through Composio at the assistant level, and queries run only when you ask.

Search the Companion can run

SerpApi searches consume credits on your plan, so the Companion tells you what it is about to query when a request would use a meaningful number of them.

Common use cases

Checking for a trigger event before dialing an account

Before a rep works a target account, ask the Companion to search for recent news about that company. A funding round, a leadership hire, or an office opening gives an opener that is specific rather than generic, and the search result carries a link the rep can read.

Verifying a company still exists and is what you think it is

Imported lists go stale. Ask the Companion to search for a handful of company names that keep returning bad numbers, and you often find the company was acquired, renamed, or shut down, which explains the connect rate without any further dialing.

How to connect SerpApi to Salesfinity

1. In Salesfinity, open Settings → Integrations.

2. Select SerpApi from the Composio-connected apps.

3. Paste your SerpApi private API key from your SerpApi dashboard.

4. Save the connection and confirm it shows as active.

5. Ask the AI Companion to run a test search to confirm results come back.

Does the SerpApi integration build calling lists from search results?

No. It returns search results for you to read. It does not create contacts or calling lists. To source prospects into a list, use List Builder, which is built for that and returns dialable contact data.

Whose SerpApi credits does this use?

Yours. The integration authenticates with your own SerpApi API key and every query counts against your plan's search quota.

How is this different from the Companion's built-in web research?

SerpApi returns raw ranked search results from a specific engine, which is useful when you want to see exactly what a search returns. It is a lower-level tool than a general research answer, and you choose which to use per question.
